School Structure >> Key Stage 1 >> Year 2
Year 2 is a busy hub of activity where learning is the focus. At present, there are over one hundred children in Year 2 and they are split into five classes. Our team places significant emphasis on children gaining independence and we encourage children to take responsibility for their relationships, their personal organisation and their learning. Our aim is to enable children to leave Key Stage 1 as confident, happy, independent and reflective learners.
Success in Year 2 is a home-school partnership between a learning community of parents, children and school staff. Homework diaries are used as the main tool for maintaining a continuous line of communication between parents and school staff. The diaries are full of information about each child’s timetable, homework, and personal targets, and full of conversations about each child’s changing needs and progress. They are a great tool for keeping all parts of home-school partnerships organised and informed.Downloads:Year 2 Welcome BookletYear 2 Curriculum OverviewYear 2 Parent Presentation
